I grew up in a rural area of the Northeast and I have been planted there ever since. As a child, I grew alongside wildlife––deer and snakes, turkeys and moose. I have been shaped by those relationships. It is different to grow up seeing the milky way every night. It is different to grow up eating handpicked blackberries and biking to the lake everyday.
